Best cinematography Oscar goes to ‘Slumdog Millionaire’

Los Angeles (IANS): Anthony Dod Mantle won the Oscar for best cinematography for his work in the critically acclaimed film “Slumdog Millionaire”.

From slums of Mumbai to a glitzy quiz show studio, Mantle handled his camera deftly, and brought forth the misery, pain, joy and celebration of the protagonists on screen in a manner that touched many hearts.

“I could thank thousand of people, which I can’t… I really thank Academy for opening this door. I thank my wife, my mom-pa, my brother and sister, Danny (Boyle), and the people who helped me in the movie,” Mantle said while receiving the award here Sunday.
