A glitch that may help Sushma

Raisen (MP): Congress nominee from the Vidisha seat Rajkumar Patel on Saturday failed to incorporate original A Form in his nomination filed here, triggering off speculation that his papers might be rejected, and his rival BJP candidate Sushma Swaraj might have a cake-walk in the polls.

Before the time for filing paper drew to a close, Mr. Patel filed the papers for the first phase of the polls to be held on April 23 in Madhya Pradesh.

Mr. Patel and his supporters had a heated argument with the District Returning Officer and Collector Sandeep Yadav after the latter said that it was necessary to incorporate original A Form in place of its photo copy in the nomination papers.

He said that the final decision would be taken on this issue during the scrutiny of papers on Sunday.
