NEW DELHI: To tide over the long-standing vacancies in the New Delhi Municipal Council schools and schools under the Navyug School Education Society, the civic body is planning to induct a fresh batch of teachers. According to an NDMC Education Department official, the selection examination was conducted last December and the list of selected candidates for interview has also been announced.
A civic body official said: “There are over 100 vacancies in all. Though we have been roping in teachers on contract basis to fill in vacancies in teaching posts from time to time, we initiated this move to ensure a regular supply of teachers in the academic interest of the children.”
“Teachers who are selected in the interview would subsequently be absorbed into Navyug schools as regular staff and in NDMC schools as contractual staff because the regular teacher vacancies in NDMC schools can only be filled through the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board,” added the official.
